Northern Area 2005 |
Welcome to page 2 of photographs from this year's area contest at Darlington. You will notice that some of the pictures are quite similar to page 1, this is because the different photographers were standing next to each other!
For these pictures we have used larger sized images which will take longer to download. Is this better, worth the wait, or do you prefer the smaller but quicker loading sized images used elsewhere? If you have any opinions on this then please email the webmaster.

The Band transport machine.

Specially designed for carrying lots of percussion equipment/instruments.
The logo on the side of the trailer reads - Shed Builders r Us
All we need now are some percussionists to come and make use of this fine machine - and of course all of our percussion instruments.

Stewart - a complete professional practising for the contest, whilst in the background, Iain McKnight practises his Frank Spencer impression. A complete ............

A lovely shot of the extractor fan, a shame it wasn't switched on - the wigs would have flown!

The horny section. Julia, Rachel, Alison and Kathy.

The Band's answer to Pan's People, Hot Gossip, Les Follies Bergeres, or perhaps Lionel Blair!

Happy Birthday David. Is that really (only) 41?
Hard paper round?

Bass players. If they can't even manage to look at the camera together, how are they ever going to play off beats?

And just to prove the point, as Iain looks to the camera, Steve closes his eyes!

Tim's turn to play I spy!

The 'A' team.
Now if only they could play the rest of the scale.

Two cameras, so as a section five sets of eyes to each camera. Team work at it's best.

Jordan and Jason, enough said.

The two J's do their best impression of Hale & Pace's two Rons.

The look of concern on Tony's face is probably reflected by all viewers of this website, on viewing Steve looking like this.

Look at the focus on Graham's face. Talk about giving 100% to the task in hand.

Vicki Kennedy, Stewart Kennedy, and Mel Kennedy.

To all of Paul's worried family down in Cornwall. Here you can see that he is getting food and drink, and yes that shirt was ironed. Good job you can't see the trousers though!

Band contesting is sometimes compared to football, regarding the relegation, promotion and league system. Well here is another comparison - Who ate all the pies?

You can tell Julia never enters a bar, just look at the shock on her face as her eyes pop out as the realisation strikes home, bandsman do drink!

Tony tries to be trendy, but we all know he was just posing with Sophie's drink, and just look at the angle of that little finger.

And so to the journey home and the age old pursuit of finger wrestling.
