Christmas Party27th January 2001 |
Held at the Duke of Cumberland public house in Cottingham, this Christmas gathering combined drink, food and music. Ideal for the musician you may think, but ....... the music was a combination of a disco (not too bad) and a karaoke (definitely painful)! Due to the busy Christmas concert schedule the party had to be put back a little while, hence why we celebrated Christmas in January!

First up on the Karaoke platform are Garry Oglesby and his son Ben. Following this performance, Ben decided that his future lay in cooking rather than music.

Another father and son duet, Dean and Mel Addinell, the balance would have been better if Mel could have actually reached the stage!

From father and son, to mother and daughter-in-law elect (Linda Addinell and Becky Bull). Not really sure about the wrestling going on here though.

Dean the drummer, confirms to the listening few that drummers really don't know a lot about intonation and tuning. Judging by the DJ in the background this was Deans attempt at the German National Anthem.
Dean then does a trio with the DJ, and Melanie Ornsby. Whilst it is said that the camera doesn't lie, what it doesn't show cannot be disputed - and that is the remainder of the Band couldn't take any more of Dean 'Leonard Cohen' Addinell's singing, and had in fact gone next door to The Tiger for some peace.

Danny then shows how it is done. It's a complicated procedure of balancing the microphone in one hand and a beer in the other.

Next up, Tim Priestly and the DJ perform 'On The Blue Ridged Mountains Of Virginia'. That's another fine mess ...........
Mel, Garry, Julian, and Mrs Julian relax in the green room prior to their performances on the stage.

Take it that Dave was driving tonight. And is that really a white fiver that Kirsty is going to the bar with?

Beer in right hand, left hand in pocket, are these two brothers? Mark must have peddled his bike to get here tonight. Someone should have told him to take his high-visibility jacket off.
Tony & Kathy, the happy couple. Notice Tony's neck line compared with the next picture, was it fastened up for the official photographs, and then back to medallion man for the casual shots?

Tony, if you must stand at the bar, can you try look a little (lot) more masculine please?

Judging by Mel's expression, it's either Liz's turn to get the drinks in, or to sing! 'Lady In Red' perhaps?
