On Wednesday 6th December the Band was invited to The Deep (Hull's Submarium) to record a broadcast for the BBC Look North programme. The BBC reporter Jo Makle contacted the Band when they released their CD, also called The Deep, to see if we would be interested in featuring on Look North, with the story of the CD, especially the specially commissioned piece The Deep. The programme was broadcast on Wednesday 13th December, and featured parts of the 2nd and 3rd movements of the suite The Deep, composed by Bram Wiggins. Also broadcast, was an interview with one of the Band's cornettists Tony Newiss, who explained the history of the piece and it's connection with Hull's seafaring community. Whilst filming, John Mathews had arranged for the photographer Alan Chandler to attend. Below, please find a selection of the photographs taken, these can be ordered from the Band.
