Formby Hall, Atherton15th January 2006 |
On the 15th January 2006, the Band made it's first visit to the Formby Hall, Atherton, near Wigan. The hall puts on a Band concert on the 3rd Sunday of each month and is well supported by a knowledgeable audience. Whilst there, the Band took the opportunity to have some new photographs taken of several Band sections, and of some of the latest signings to the Band.

Jim, as always meticulous in his preparation, but secretly hoping the audience will arrive!

The same hall, seen from the stage, but with two people - could this be the audience? No, they came on the coach with the Band.

New signing Joanna (Jo) Lenthall, who joined on 2nd Baritone - and so proving that you don't have to be over 50 to play 2nd Baritone!

The New Zealand Cornet Champion Steve Rudhall - this photograph carefully disguises his broken foot!

Solo Euphonium - Liz Grosvenor, modelling for her new mug shot!

Besson Sovereign Tenor Horn ably assisted by Alice Rudhall, the Band's 1st Horn player.

The Horn Section - Now are they stood in section order, or height order?

The Horn Babes 2006 - a definite improvement on the 2005 Babes!

The Trombone Section - Don't mess with me (Mark), Hurry up with this picture I'm dying for a fag (Jez), and Softlad (Softlad)!

Euphonium and Baritone Section - Jo, John, Paul (where's the camera) and Liz.

Baritone and Euphonium Section - John sent his instrument away after this concert, obviously he thought it should have dazzled Jo even more!

Shaun The Shed

Danny proves to the world that he isn't wearing eyeshadow.

One of the few six foot cornet sections around.

Now they've lined up, definitely not in age before beauty formation.

Enough said!

Jonathon and Shaun - one of these is percussionist and one of them a drummer! Or one of them is a mini mechanic and one of them isn't!

"Hurry up and take the picture" said Tony through gritted teeth, "I want to breathe out!"

Whilst perfecting his cheeky chappie smile for the camera, 27 people managed to get served at the bar before Steve.
Desperately trying not to spill his drink, Pete wonders why Sophie has a fluorescent blue light in the middle of her back.

Perhaps if I try the old Tommy Cooper approach the Band will move together!

Liz smiles politely, as Danny does one of his famed conductor impressions - "Deano that sounds like rain on a shed roof!"

Once again as the camera moves around Vicky seems to be holding her Mum's drink.

Emma, Jez, and Steve wait to see if Alexine quaffs the beer in one.

Andy and Sam
Be suspicious of anyone who drinks from a half pint glass, when there is room in their pint glass to pour it in.

Get Away - He's 29 if he's a day!

Yes 29!!
