Maurice Metcalfe Memorial Concert

Middleton Hall, Hull

The following pictures were taken before, and during the Maurice Metcalfe Memorial Concert, on Saturday 26th September at The Middleton Hall, University of Hull. This concert was originally planned to be a twentieth anniversary concert of the Band's 1989 formation. However, following the death of Band Secretary Maurice, the concert was to be a celebration of his life with the proceeds going to the Dove House Hospice, a charity close to his, and his family's heart.

Introducing our first guest conductor of the evening

Our regular 2nd Trombonist Jez Kearney couldn't be with us this evening, but we were delighted that former Band member Rosie could act as his dep.

Our second guest conductor for the evening - Dixon Laing.

Along with Bob, Dixon was the other person responsible for the creation of the City of Hull Band in 1989, which changed its name shortly afterwards to the East Yorkshire Motor Services Band.
