2010 Street Life Museum |
On Saturday 27th November, the East Yorkshire Motor Services Quintet performed at the Streetlife Museum as part of Kingston Upon Hull City Council's Victorian Christmas. Despite the inclement weather, this was a very well supported event with stalls and events throughout the museum. The Quintet - along with the Priory Park Singers - provided a selection of festive and traditional music throughout the day.

The East Yorkshire Motor Services Quintet.
Tony Newiss (Cornet), Kathy Newiss (Flugel Horn), Gareth Hughes (EEb Bass), Alison Grantham (Tenor Horn), Mark Unsworth (Trombone).

One of the joys about having the Quintet playing in the museum is that the music can be heard throughout all of the galleries. In previous years, the Quintet has provided mainly background music, but this year we were located to a position that enabled us to play to a sit down audience.

One of the people that was drawn to the sound was photographer Chris McNally, who took these pictures during our performance, and kindly gave us permission to use them on our website.
